Holyoke St. Patrick's Day Parade Set for Sunday, March 23

The 63rd annual St. Patrick's Day Parade in Holyoke, Massachusetts is taking place on Sunday, March 23, 2014, starting at noon.

This year's Grand Marshal is Roger Donoghue, an 81 year old Holyoke native who has been volunteering with the parade since 1965.  "He is not st the grand marshal, he is a grand man," said Parade committee President Jane C. Chevalier.

First started in 1952, the parade has become one of America's largest St. Patrick's Day, a family-oriented celebration of the distinct Irish-American community of western Massachusetts.
