The 24th annual Glasgow Lands Scottish Festival has been named event of the week by the Boston Irish Tourism Association.

The festival takes place on Saturday, July 15, at Look Park in Florence, Massachusetts and features a full day of Scottish culture, athletics, dance and music.  Also at the festival: historical reenactors of Scottish history and culture, children's games, food and beverage courts, and a shopping area with authentic Scottish products.  Find full details at the Glasgow Lands Scottish Festival website.

Among the top performers are the Brigadoons, the Tartan Terrors, Screaming Orphans, Allbanach, Charlie Zahm and more.  Here is the full musical schedule.

Find out more about the history of the festival and also the origins of the name, which dates back to 1753, when this part of western Massachusetts was first settled by Scots-Irish immigrants from Ulster.
