The Maguires, Irish Family Band, Perform at Irish Cultural Centre on June 28

The Maguires , a traditional Irish band from County Wicklow, perform at the Irish Cultural Centre in Canton at 7:30 on Thursday, June 29, 2017.  Tickets are $20 general admission, and $15 for ICC members. The family band is on a U.S. Tour this summer that stretches from the East Coast to Montana. Here is a schedule of upcoming events at the Irish Cultural Centre this summer. Milton Music Fest + Celtic Sunday Taking Place June 24-25

The annual Milton Music Fest and Celtic Sunday is taking place at Governor Hutchinson Field on Adams Street in Milton, MA on June 24-25, 2017.   The event  is free and open to the public, and shuttle buses are available from other parts of town. Headlining the Saturday festival, which begins at 3:00 p.m., is Chicago, Total Access, followed by fireworks in the evening. Headlining the Celtic Sunday lineup this year is Pauline Wells and Devri, Margaret Dalton and Erin's Melody, Sean Brennan and the Skiffs, Curragh's Fancy, the Fenian Sons and Jinty McGrath.   The Sunday event begins at 1:30 p.m.  There is also a tradition music session taking place and local vendors as well. Summer issue of Travel & Culture features Travel Between New England & Ireland

( BOSTON ) -- The Boston Irish Tourism Association (BITA) has released its 2017 summer issue of Travel & Culture Guide, a compendium of Irish festivals and concerts, culinary, cultural and literary activities taking place in Massachusetts and throughout New England .  The 28-page color magazine is  distributed free  at visitor kiosks and cultural venues throughout Massachusetts and is available in  digital format online.   Among the stories in this issue:  Norwegian Air enters the Boston-Ireland market; 12 famous lighthouses on the island of Ireland; cultural festivals and concerts in Massachusetts this summer, from Boston to the Berkshires; celebrating the 100th anniversary of JFK; the newly dedicated Flynn Boston Cruiseport; book reviews; and walking Boston's Irish Heritage Trail.  BITA is celebrating its 17th year as a year-round, cultural tourism organization that promotes the state’s largest ethnic community.  The US Census reports that nearly 24% of a

7th Annual Summer Solstice Festival in Rhode Island is Saturday, June 17

The 7th annual  Summer Solstice Festival,  presented by the  Blackstone River Theatre,  takes place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Diamond Hill Park in Cumberland , RI .   Tickets to the festival  are just $15 for adults, $10 for seniors, $5 for children ages 6-15, and free for children 5 and under. You can also enter a contest to  win a free pair of tickets  from the  Boston Irish Tourism Association . Riverdance World Tour at Hanover Theatre in Worcester, June 8-11

Riverdance - The 20th Anniversary World Tour, is performing six shows at the Hanover Theatre in Worcester on June 8-11, 2017.   Tickets range from $39 to $74, and you can purchase tickets online or at the venue.  Riverdance combines Irish traditions in music, song, theater and dance and blends them into a modern context that also embodies other artistic forms of expression from other cultures.  The result is an imaginative, energetic and poetic rendition of live performance that is inspiring and engaging.
