Patriots Player Brandon King & Bands from Boston to Glasgow are Marching in Cape Cod Patrick's Parade on March 4

Boston Police Gaelic Column of Pipes & Drums   The 12th annual  Cape Cod Patrick's Parade  is taking place on Saturday, March 4, 2017, featuring Grand Marshall  Brandon King , defensive back of the Super Bowl Champions New England Patriots. Also in the parade is the  James Connolly Flute Band  from Glasgow , Scotland .  The 60 member band is makng its first appearance at the parade, according to parade committee co-chairman John Fallon. The popular  Boston Police Gaelic Column of Pipes & Drums  is also participating in this year's parade. The parade begins at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 4, at Route 28 and Long Pond Drive in South Yarmouth, and continues west for about two miles, to the intersection of Route 28 andHiggins Crowell Road in West Yarmouth .  Here is a  map of the parade route . Parade organizers have arranged for trolleys to run the length of the parade so viewers can easily get to their cars or to their next destination.  And Operation

Children of Lir Theatre Workshop at Irish Cultural Centre during School Vacation Week

Looking for an educational activitiy for the kids during school vacation week in Greater Boston?   The  Irish Cultural Centre  in  Canton , in association with the  Atlantic Irish Arts Academy , is offering a three day educational learning event entitled “The Children of Lir Theatre Workshop." It takes place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on February 21-23, 2017.Cost is $160 per child, and sibling discounts are available. Irish Traditional Music Stars at the Blackstone River Theatre on Saturday, February 18

Mark Roberts, Laurel Martin & Kieran Jordan   Check out two great acts at the Blackstone River Theatre in Cumberland, RI on Saturday, February 18, 2017.  The show begins at 8:00 p.m. and tickets are $15, available at the door.  First is the trio of Laurel Martin , fiddler; Mark Roberts  on flute, banjo, and bouzouki; and sean nos dancer  Kieran Jordan .  As a trio, they present tasteful musical selections, with dance woven in as rhythmic and visual accompaniment.  The Vox Hunters  is an exciting duo featuring  Armand Aromin on fiddle and flute  and  Benedict Gagliardi  on concertina.  Their unorthodox collection of tunes underscores their diverse backgrounds and understanding of traditional music.  Armomin is also an instrument maker, having studied violin making at the North Bennet School in Boston's North End.  Gagliardi also sings and plays banjo, ukulele, harmonica and mandolin.   Here is a full schedule of concerts at Blackstone River Theatre in the coming

The Chieftains Perform Their Only Massachusetts Show in Medford on March 1

The Chieftains – one of Ireland ’s most influential and popular traditional bands  - is performing at the Chevalier Theatre in Medford on Wednesday, March 1, 2017.  It is the band’s only Massachusetts appearance during this tour.
