Irish Cultural Centre Celebrates St. Brigid Day on February 2

The Irish Cultural Centre of New England   is holding a celebration of Saint Brigid's Day (Lá Fhéile Bríde) and the Celtic holiday Imbloc at 1 p.m. on Sunday, February 2, 2020.   Led by Maureen McNally, the event includes an afternoon of song, music, poetry, dance and crafts.   Participants will learn how to make a St. Bridid’s cross or a Brigid doll.   The Gaelic traditional holiday marks the beginning of spring and is halfway between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. Prior to the celebration is a mass at 11 a.m., and an Irish breakfast. World Folk Fusion Band The Gnomes Perform at Blackstone River Theatre on February 1

The Gnomes, a popular New England band specializing in World-Folk-Fusion, performs at the  Blackstone River Theatre  in Rhode Island at 8 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2020.  Tickets are $16 in advance and $18 at the door the night of the concert.  The band features  Phil Edmonds, Cathy Clasper-Torch, Mike Fischman, Peter Breen , and  Matt Demick . Instrumentation includes fiddle, Irish whistles, er-hu, accordion, guitar, mandolin, bass, percussion, keyboard, and vocals. Their spirited music encompasses Celtic, klezmer, Scandinavian, Carribean, Asian and Latin styles. The Gnomes are 2019 and 2018 Motif Music Award Winners in the World Music category. New England tourism represented at Dublin's Holiday World Show this Weekend

Massachusetts  and other New England states are represented this weekend at the annual  Holiday World Show  in Dublin, Ireland.  You can visit them at  Stand J4/K3 . Among the regional groups at the show:  Discover New England ,  Mass Office of Travel & Tourism,   New Hampshire Travel & Tourism ,  Connecticut Office of Tourism ,  Bradley International Airport  and  Discover Newport, Rhode Island . The show runs from January 24-26 at the  RDS Building in Ballsbridge , Dublin, not far from the  U.S. Embassy .  Over 550 exhibitors representing thousands of destinations are on display for 40,000+ attendees, mainly Irish consumers looking for a perfect vacation in 2020. Windborne Performs at Blackstone River Theatre on January 18

Windborne, a New England vocal quartet seeped in folk music, performs at the Blackstone River Theatre in Cumberland, RI on at 8 p.m. Saturday, January 18, 2020. Celtic Band Fellswater Performs at Blackstone River Theatre on January 11, 2020

Fellswater, a Boston-based Celtic music ensemble playing the music of Scotland, Ireland, Brittany and Canada, performs at Blackstone River Theatre in Cumberland, RI at 8 p.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2020.  Tickets to the show are $20 at the venue. Boston Wine Festival kicks off on January 10, a celebration of the world's best wine and food
