Irish Music & Culture Celebration on March 12 in Littleton Features Fiddler Charlie Lennon



Indian Hill Music in Littleton, Massachusetts is presenting a day-long Celebration of Irish Music & Culture on Saturday, March 12, 2011.

The celebration includes an Irish Festival from noon to 5:00 p.m. at Indian Hill Music School, featuring a series of musical workshops, storytelling, family activities, and traditional music sessions.  Featured during the day are Irish fiddle legend Charlie Lennon and Michael Cooney, a champion on the uilleann pipes, plus a host of great traditional Irish music from the New England region, including flutist Shannon Heaton, Flynn Cohen, Laurel Martin and others.

In the evening, the Orchestra of Indian Hill presents a  Tip O' the Hat to St. Patrick's Day.  The music includes the American premier of Charlie Lennon's Island Wedding Suite, plus Victor Herbert's Irish Rhapsody, Lord of the Dance and more.  Brian O'Donovan, host of the popular PBS radio show, Celtic Sojourn, is the master of ceremonies.
