Professor  Catherine Shannon is giving a lecture on the USS Jamestown , which carried food, medical supplies and other provisions to the people of Ireland during the height of the Irish Famine in 1847. The lecture takes place at the Irish Cultural Centre in Canton on Friday, February 27, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $12 general admission and $10 for ICC members. A long time member of the American Conference of Irish Studies , former history professor at Westfield State College, author and scholar, Shannon is organizing an exhibition of the USS Jamestown at the Forbes Museum in Milton,where many of the ships artifacts are stored.  Captain Robert B. Rockin Road to Dublin , the new revue of Irish dance and music, is coming to the J. Everett Collins Center for Performing Arts in Andover, MA on Friday and Saturday, February 20-21, 2015. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased online or at the venue.  Both shows begin at 7:30 p.m. Created by musician Chris Smith and dancer Scott Doherty, the show brings an abundance of style, energy and originality.   Doherty is a Massachusetts resident who has toured with Riverdance, Lord of the Dance. The show has just come off a successful tour of Virginia and Tennessee, and this is it's only local appearance.  Check out these video clips . Boston's newest outdoor space, Lawn on D is hosting a three-day Slope Fest on February 20-22, 2015.  Sponsored by the Massachusetts Convention Center , the winter festival offers tubing down a 70 foot long slope, plus snowboarding exhibitions, live Latin music, a bar made of ice and more. Full Set, a sextet of exception traditional musicians from throughout Ireland, performs at the Burren Pub Back Room Series in Davis Square, Somerville, on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets to the concert are $24.80 and can be purchased online . New England Patriots running back Jonas Gray is marching in this year's Cape Cod St. Patrick's Parade on Saturday, March 7, 2015. A 2011 graduate of the University of Notre Dame , where he was a political science major, Gray had a stellar game against the Indianapolis Colts this season, rushing for 201 yards and scoring four touchdowns.  The performance put him on the cover of Sports Illustrated . Gray is joining Grand Marshall Cindy Fitzgibbon , Channel Five meteorologist. Led by co-chairs John Fallon and Mairead McCann, the Cape Cod St. Patrick's Parade is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year as one of the region's most popular Irish parades.  The two-mile parade starts at 11:00 a.m., and proceeds from Long Pond Drive and Rt 28 in South Yarmouth to its finish at the Town N Country Motel on Rt 28 in West Yarmouth.  Here is the parade map . Congratulations to  Cindy Fitzgibbon , meteorologist for WCVB, Channel Five , who has been named the Grand Marshall of the 10th annual Cape Cod St. Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday, March 7, 2015. A proud New Englander who was raised in Windham, Maine, Fitzgibbons has worked in the Boston market since 2002, and has covered over 300 snowstorms in her career. She joins an illustrious list of Grand Marshals at the Cape Cod parade, including Bruin legends Bobby Orr, Terry O'Reilly and Derek Sanderson, former Boston Mayor Ray Flynn , fighter Irish Micky Ward and television personalities Doug Meehan and Charlie Moore .
