Celtic + Christmas Concerts in New England this Weekend, December 9-11



Reagle Theatre's Christmas Time 

The Celtic Christmas season gets into full swing this weekend with an amazing selection of concerts taking place in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire & Rhode Island, according to the Boston Irish Tourism Association.   Find full details at IrishBoston

The Boston Holiday Pops concert with the world-renowned Boston Pops Orchestra and led by Maestro Keith Lockhart has multiple shows on December 9-10-11 at the glorious Boston Symphony Hall,  Plus, the Boston Pops Holiday Tour traveling band performs at Hanover Theatre in Worcester on December 9; the SNHU Theatre in Manchester, NH on Saturday, December 10; and the Lowell Memorial Auditorium on Sunday, December 11.

A Christmas Celtic Sojourn with radio host Brian O’Donovan kicks off on Friday, December 9 at the Cutler Majestic Theatre in downtown Boston, followed by two shows on Saturday, December 11 and Sunday, December 12.  Then Sojourn goes on the road but returns to Boston the following weekend.  So many star performers, but new to the show this year is singer Eilis Kennedy from Dingle, County Kerry, and Vishten from the Canadian Maritimes.

The Reagle Theatre presents Christmas Time, its annual  show at the Robinson Theatre in Waltham on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, December 9-11. A cast of 200 presents holiday favorites like Nutcracker Suite, Teddy Bear Picnic and Parade of the Toy Soldiers. 

The Palace Theatre in Manchester, NH presents Charles Dickens' Christmas Carol, the classic story of Scrooge and Tiny Tim, performed by an award-winning cast. 

Fiddle start Eileen Ivers performs A Joyful Christmas at Cary Hall in Lexington on Saturday, December 10, with her amazing band and infectious spirit.  They’ll play a program of American and Irish songs, original tunes and holiday favorites, are centered around the true meaning of Christmas.

The Vienna Boys Choir performs at Cathedral of St. Joseph in Hartford, CT on Saturday, For six centuries, these young cultural ambassadors have been adored the world over for their wide range of repertoire, purity of tone, and generosity of musical spirit.

The Irish Cultural Centre in Canton has a great weekend of music and holiday festivities, led by the Silver Spears Band.  In addition to singing, dancing and storytelling, attendees have a chance to win at the $30,000 Raffle.  Tickets help fund the Centre’s programming throughout the year.

The Massachusetts Symphony Orchestra presents its annual Holiday Pops Concert at Mechanics Hall in Worcester on Saturday, December 10.  It features traditional favorites of the season, light classics, dance theatre, chorus, and the Tops of Broadway!

Blackstone River Theatre in Cumberland, RI presents its annual Christmas Celebration on Saturday, December 10, featuring high energy clogging and step dancing, ancient carols, recitations, dance tunes and more. 

Dance Prism performs The Nutcracker Ballet at Mechanics Hall in Worcester on Sunday, December 11.  The troupe includes dancers from throughout the northeast region and eastern seaboard.
