Irish, Scottish and Folk Festivals in New England


The Boston Irish Tourism Association has compiled a selection of top Irish, Scottish ad Folk festivals taking place in New England this summer.

The season starts with the Boston Irish Music Festival in Canton, MA on June 3-4 and wraps up with the New Hampshire Highland Games at Loon Mountain, NH on September 15-17.

The 7th annual Summer Solstice Festival, hosted by Blackstone River Theatre in Cumberland, RI, is becoming one of the most popular Celtic festivals in the region.  This year's line-up - featuring Kevin Crawford and Cillian Vallely, Archie Fisher,  Les Poules à Colin - encompasses a wide range of Irish, Scottish, Canadian and American folk traditions.

And the 24th annual Glasgow Lands Scottish Festival outside of Northampton, MA continues to offer a strong portray of Scottish music and dance, athletic games and bagpipe competitions, and food and cultural traditions here in New England. 

In addition, New England offers two nationally acclaimed folk festivals:  the Newport Folk Festival in Newport, RI, considered one of the top folk festivals in America; and the Lowell Folk Festival in Lowell, MA, which offers an incredible line-up of folk traditions from around the world.
