"One of my greatest privileges as Boston Pops Conductor is leading this country’s premier Independence Day celebration for the wonderful citizens of Boston and all those who travel from far and wide to visit this vibrant and historic city we are so fortunate to call home," said Lockhart.

The Esplanade is managed by the Mass Department of Conservation & Recreation, a state agency that oversees 450,000 acres in Massachusetts.
