South Shore Irish Heritage Trail Hosting Black Velvet Soiree in Cohasset on February 4, 2023

The South Shore Irish Heritage Trail is hosting its first annual Black Velvet Soiree on February 4, 2023 at the South Shore Art Center in Cohasset, MA. Tickets to the event are $125-$200. Purchase online here.

The fundraising event helps support the SS Irish Heritage Trail, which offers visitors a fascinating journey into the history and heritage of the Massachusetts Irish community through nine scenic towns South of Boston.

State Senator Patrick O'Connor and Historian Catherine Shannon, PhD are receiving the First Annual Trail Blazer Awards at the SoirĂ©e for their support and leadership in creating the Trail.

As part of the fundraiser, organizers of the soiree are also auctioning off a week in Ireland in August, 2023, at a 4 bedroom, 2 bath home in Kinvara, County Galway that sleeps eight. The home is on the southern side of Galway Bay within an easy drive to the Cliffs of Moher, Doolin, Ailwee Cave, Bunratty, Shannon Airport, Galway City, Connemara and other iconic destinations along Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way.

Formally launched on May 22, 2022, the South Shore Irish Heritage Trail features dozens of landmarks, museums, public parks and cultural venues where the illustrious story of the Irish is displayed.  Here are the nine towns along the route.
