BITA Issues 2023 Schedule of St. Patrick's Day Parades in New England

(February 15, 2023) - The Boston Irish Tourism Association has issued its Annual Schedule of Saint Patrick's Day parades taking place in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Connecticut in March 2023.  

Attended by millions of residents and visitors, these annual parades honor the patron saint of Ireland, Saint Patrick, while also celebrating the arrival of spring.   

The parades are also part of Irish Heritage Month celebrations taking place in Ireland, the United States and Canada and in dozens of countries around the world. 

The US Census reports that the New England region has the highest percentile of residents claiming Irish ancestry in the United States.

  • Cape Cod, MA/ Saturday, March 11 at 11 a.m.  
  • Hartford, CT/ Saturday, March 11 at 11 a.m. 
  • Newport, RI/ Saturday, March 11 at 11 a.m. 
  • W.Warwick, RI/ Sunday, March 12 at 1 p.m.
  • New Haven, CT/ Sunday, March 12 at 1:30 p.m. 
  • Worcester, MA/ Sunday, March 12 at Noon  
  • Providence, RI/ Saturday, March 18 at Noon  
  • Abington, MA/ Sunday, March 19 at 1 p.m. 
  • Boston, MA/ Sunday, March 19 at 1 p.m. 
  • Holyoke, MA/ Sunday, March 19 at Noon 
  • Scituate, MA/ Sunday, March 19 at 1 p.m. 
  • Manchester, NH/ Sunday, March 19 at Noon

Kicking off the 2023 parade season this year is the 18th Annual Cape Cod St Patrick's Parade on Saturday, March 11.  The popular two-mile parade begins at 11 a.m. at Route 28 and Long Pond Drive in South Yarmouth, and proceeds on Route 28 to West Yarmouth, where it ends at Higgins Crowell Road.

One of the biggest parades in the region each year is the Holyoke St. Patrick's Day Parade, taking place this year on Sunday, March 19, and its popular Road Race, taking place on Saturday, March 18.
