Boston Harbor Hotel's Stephen Johnston is Named Hotelier of the Year


Congratulations to Stephen Johnston, general manager and managing director of Boston Harbor Hotel, who has been honored with the esteemed Hotelier of the Year Award at the 2023 Preferred Global Conference hosted by Preferred Hotels & Resorts

The award were announced recently at the Preferred Global Conference, the annual gathering of the Preferred Hotels & Resorts network, which includes more than 650 hotels, resorts, residences, and hotel groups spanning 80 countries.

Among the numerous award categories, the Hotelier of the Year Award stands as the sole individual recognition.

Born in Dublin, Ireland, Stephen has worked in a variety of hotels in Ireland, the United Kingdom, and the United States, according to his bio.  Prior to his move to Boston Harbor Hotel, Stephen spent 22 years with The Doyle Collection in Ireland, the U.K. and here in Boston. He’s opened four hotels in select service and luxury hotel markets in both Europe and the United States. Opening Jurys Boston Hotel, a 225-room boutique hotel in Boston’s fashionable Back Bay neighborhood brought Stephen to the United States in 2003.

Stephen was previously named General Manager of the Year by the Massachusetts Lodging Association and is greatly involved in Meet Boston, the local visitors bureau.
