Today, US Ambassador to Ireland Claire Cronin officially opened the US Pavilion at the at The Holiday World Show Dublin at the RDS Simmonscourt in Ballsbridge. The gathering of 1,000+ travel professionals from 50 countries is held each year to help Irish consumers plan dream holidays around the world. The annual show runs through Sunday, January 28. 

Ambassador Cronin was joined by Clare Dunne, chief executive of the Irish Travel Agents Association (ITAA), Maureen Ledwith, sales director at the Holiday World Show, Tony Lane, president of Woodstock Communications, and representatives from numerous American states, cities and destinations, including several New England representatives. 

“You can make all your travel plans to visit the United States at the show. Flights are easier than ever before, and we have more direct flights from both Dublin and Shannon airports to the United States,” Ambassador Cronin said. “We’re here to help you meet you expert travel agents, to hear from the people from our consulate department, if you have any questions on visas or customs and border protection, here’s your one-stop shop.”

Discover New England, a regional destination marketing organization representing Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont , has a strong presence each year at the Holiday World Show, because of the longstanding travel an cultural connections between Ireland and New England.  Representatives at this year’s show include Newport, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Maine and Vermont

Other American destinations at the show included New York, Colorado, the Deep South, Oklahoma, Utah, Wyoming, Montana and Los Angeles. 

And as always, numerous countries around the world had travel booths, including France, Peru, Slovakia, Slovenia, Lithuania, Taiwan, Japan, Spain, Columbia and Cyprus.

Ireland was also well-represented at the show, with counties, cities, hotels and other destinations all vying for the Irish vacationer making plans to travel in 2024. Among the counties exhibiting were Sligo, Mayo, Cork, Offaly, Roscommon, Leitrim, Waterford, Kilkenny, Carlow, Belfast and Donegal.  Find more about visiting Ireland.
