Massachusetts State Senate President Therese Murray Honored as Irish Person of the Year


The Hillcrest Education Centers named Therese Murray as its Irish Person of the Year in a recent ceremony celebrating St. Patrick's Day season in Massachusetts.  Located in Pittsfield,  Hillcrest Educational Centers Inc provides state-of-the-art residential treatment services to students with behavior disorders.

Murray is Senate President of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and represents the Plymouth & Barnstable District.  She has long been active in Irish-American business and cultural activities throughout the state and has strengthened economic development ties between Ireland and Massachusetts.

To cap off this year's St. Patrick's Day celebrations, Senator Murray was invited to attend the White House St. Patrick's Day reception on the evening of March 17,  hosted by President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.
