ArtsEmerson Presents One-Man Show on Moby Dick

ArtsEmerson is presenting an engaging one-man show by Irish actor Conor Lovett, from Ireland's famed theatre troupe, the Gare St. Lazare Players.   The play holds audiences spellbound with this classic tale of a mythic sea monster, vengeful Captain Ahab, and the epic journey aboard the Pequod.

The performance runs from November 7 - 12, 2011 at the Paramount Theatre in Boston. 

The music by Marin Lewis provides a poetic counterpoint to Ahab’s fanatical quest, based on the novel by Herman Melville, and adapted to stage by Conor Lovett & Judy Hegarty Lovett.

The Kip Tiernan Memorial is located in Boston's Back Bay on Dartmouth Street between Newbury and Boylston streets, next to Old South Church, and honors her relentless fight for economic and social justice, and her special attention to helping homeless women. She is best known for founding Rosie’s Place on Easter Sunday in 1974, the first shelter in America to specifically address the issues confronting homeless women. JFK Library presents Forum on new biography of Ernest Hemingway on Wednesday, October 12

The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library is presenting author Paul Hendrickson to discuss his new biography of Ernest Hemingway on Wednesday, October12, 2011, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Tickets are free but you must register to attend. The book, entitled  Hemingway's Boat: Everything He Loved and Lost in Life, 1934- 1961 , explores Hemingway's life as seen through his long relationship with his beloved boat, Pilar.
