Burren Pub Holds Fundraiser for Sergio O'Connor on May 20

The Burren Pub in Davis Square, Somerville, is holding an all-day fundraiser for the medical care of Sergio O'Connor on Sunday, May 20, 2012 from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m.  

The event includes live music by local traditional Irish musicians, a complimentary buffet, and raffle prizes.

Sergio was born in Ireland on March 5, 2011 with an incomplete oesophagus,which prevents him from eating, drinking and swallowing.  He has been approved to have a life-changing operation at Children's Hospital in Boston. 

Sergio's father Donal O'Connor is a traditional musician in Dublin and has the support of Boston's Irish music community.  The Burren fundraiser was organized by traditional musicians Tommy McCarthy and Louise Costello.
