Children of Lir Theatre Workshop at Irish Cultural Centre during School Vacation Week


Looking for an educational activitiy for the kids during school vacation week in Greater Boston?  

The Irish Cultural Centre in Canton, in association with the Atlantic Irish Arts Academy, is offering a three day educational learning event entitled “The Children of Lir Theatre Workshop."

It takes place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on February 21-23, 2017.Cost is $160 per child, and sibling discounts are available.

The workshop provides children ages 6-18 with a chance to explore the Irish language, perform script writing, principles of performance, costume design and theatre production. 

The Children of Lir is an ancient Irish folktale where a jealous wife turns her step-children into swans, as described in Ireland of the Welcomes.   

The mission of Atlantic Irish Arts Academy is to teach our students about the vast literary history of Ireland through performance and enjoyable educational and cultural activities. Students will learn the Ireland's stories, culture, drama and have fun.
