Boston Pops Presents Rhiannon Giddens at Symphony Hall, May 22-25
The Boston Pops is presenting Grammy and MacArthur Grant winner Rhiannon Giddens in concert at Boston Symphony Hall on May 22-25, 2019. Called 'Redefining American Music,' the four-night stint offers a genre-busting presentation of music from her critically-acclaimed albums with influences in roots, jazz, blues, country, Gospel, and Celtic.
Boston Pops conductor Keith Lockhart says about Giddens, "She has this amazing, eclectic look at American roots music, including Celtic rich music which has a huge part in the development of American folk tradition."
The co-founder of Grammy-winning string band Carolina Chocolate Drops, Rhiannon is also a Grammy-nominated solo artist with a reoccurring role on the hit-TV show Nashville, and hosts the Metropolitan Opera’s Aria Code podcast. Read more about Rhiannon Giddens.
