On Earth Day, Ireland Announces its First Marine National Park in County Kerry

Conor Pass, County Kerry   (April 22, 2024) Ireland announced today that it is creating Ireland’s first Marine National Park - Páírc Náisiúnta na Mara, Ciarraí -  in County Kerry, as part of the country's 2024 Earth Day celebrations. The Pairc includes the Conor Pass, as well as new sites at Inch Peninsula, Mount Brandon and the Owenmore River in Co. Kerry, and is enriched by the inclusion of nature and heritage places managed by OPW, Commissioner for Irish Lights and BirdWatch Ireland. Massachusetts Senate Resolution Commends Boston Irish Tourism Association for its Role in Promoting Irish Culture and Heritage in March 2024

Massachusetts State Senator Nick Collins and his colleagues in the Senate issued a Resolution commending the Boston Irish Tourism Association and its partners on celebrating St. Patrick's Day and Irish Heritage Month throughout the Commonwealth in March 2024.  The Resolution praised the Boston Irish Tourism Association for its work "with state and regional tourism councils, cities, towns and cultural venues to promote the Commonwealth as a visitor destination," and for its work "with Tourism Ireland and Massport to strengthen travel ties between the Commonwealth and Ireland throughout the year." Wild Atlantic Way Celebrates 10 Year Anniversary as one of Ireland's Most Popular Visitor Trails

Malin Heal, Donegal Launched in 2014 by Irish tourism officials, Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way has been a stellar success over the past decade, attracting nearly 2 million more visitors to Ireland, increasing tourism spending by 59% and creating an additional 35,000 jobs, according to a new report launched today at Meitheal, an annual trade event for the Irish tourism industry. The Wild Atlantic Way stretches f rom counties Cork to Donegal,  across 1,500 miles and nine counties.  The nine counties include Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Clare, Galway, Mayo, Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal. Irish Band Reverie Road Performs at Blackstone River Theatre on April 13, 2024

Ireland increases its film tax credit cap rate to €125 million and extends the program through 2028

Cliffs of Moher, County Clare Ireland plans to increase its film tax credit from €70 million to €125 million, and to extend the tax credit program to the end of 2028, following European Commission approval of both amendments.   The film tax credit program, which offers film makers a tax break on up to 32% of production costs, has helped Ireland become a global leader in the area of high quality audio-visual production over the past quarter century.  By offering a corporate tax credit relating to the cost of production of films, the program acts as a "stimulus to the creation of an indigenous film industry, creating quality employment opportunities and supporting the expression of Irish and European culture," according to government information.
